TIGER GALA 2023
Join us on Thursday, September 14, 2023, as the West Des Moines Community School (WDMCS) Foundation hosts the 2nd Annual Tiger Gala presented by Shive-Hattery.
Keynote speaker for the 2023 Tiger Gala is Adam Meyer, WDMCS alumni, and provost at The Juilliard School in New York, NY. During his time in the WDMCS district, Adam participated in orchestra, band, baseball, basketball, and several school clubs. Adam is the son of Kathy and Gene Meyer, long-time residents of West Des Moines, where Gene served as Mayor from 1997-2006. We're excited to have Adam and his family help us support the WDMCS district during this event.
EVENT DETAILS
This event is a social gathering for guests to come together to raise funds for all 13 schools in the WDMCS district. The reception includes delicious food and drink, an “I STAND FOR WDMCS” live auction item, a silent auction, and an after-party event to include live music entertainment and a dessert bar.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for cocktails and heavy appetizers. Program begins at 7:00 p.m. Event is business attire.

Your ticket purchase provides opportunities for all WDMCS students by enhancing innovative resources for students and teachers and classroom improvements. The WDMCS Foundation strives to encourage student participation, creative teaching, and community-school partnerships by making funds available to enhance the 4 A’s: academics, athletics, activities, and arts.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THIS YEAR’S EVENT?
If you attended the Tiger Gala for WDMCS Foundation last year, you expect some new things this year. All guests will come together in a reception to include delicious food and drink, a special "I STAND FOR WDMCS" live auction items, a silent auction, and an after-party with live music entertainment and a dessert bar.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE EVENING?
Business attire is suggested.
IS PARKING AVAILABLE?
Yes, there is ample parking.
WILL THERE BE A COAT CHECK?
A coat check will be available
WHAT TIME DOES THE EVENT BEGIN?
Social Drinks and Food begins at 6:00 p.m.
Program begins at 7:00 p.m.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY TICKETS FOR THE EVENT?
No printed ticket necessary. We will have pre-printed name tags to represent your ticket.
ARE DRINKS INCLUDED IN THE TICKET PRICE?
One drink ticket is provided per seat (8) with the purchase of a table sponsorship.
There will be soft drinks, beer, wine, soda, and mixed drinks available for purchase for those who purchase individual tickets. Please drink responsibly and arrange to have a designated driver.
CAN I PAY FOR A TICKET THE EVENING OF THE EVENT?
Yes, however, tables are normally full prior to our event. We encourage you to purchase your seat/s prior to the event.
HOW MANY SEATS ARE AT EACH TABLE?
Tables will be set for eight (8) seats.
CAN I PURCHASE A TABLE WITHOUT KNOWING THE NAMES OF MY GUESTS?
Yes, please enter TBD in the name section of the online purchase form. Please email your guests’ names to Charley Crowley at charles.c1033@yahoo.com.
IF ONE OF MY GUESTS IS UNABLE TO ATTEND, CAN I INVITE SOMEONE ELSE AT THE LAST MINUTE?
Yes, you can invite someone other than your original guest. You will need to tell our registration table the name of the person who is unable to attend and provide them with the name of your new guest. Your new guest will be issued a handwritten name tag.
WILL THERE BE A SIT-DOWN DINNER AT THE EVENT?
No. While we have opted to forgo a formal seated dinner this year, there will still be plenty of delicious options available at the event, including hors d’oeuvres, an exciting variety of food stations, and delectable dessert offerings as well as several drink and bar stations.
WHEN CAN I START BIDDING ON THE SILENT AUCTION ITEMS?

CAN I WAIT TO BID AT THE EVENT?
Yes, the silent auction items will be available at the event as well as the QR code for ease of online bidding.
IS MY TICKET PURCHASE TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
Yes, The West Des Moines Community School Foundation is considered a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
